Switzerland - I've always imagined it to be a place of endless scenic delights, and I was far from disappointed. I remember standing in the middle of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, surrounded by lush green forests, waterfalls brought about by melting snow cascading from towering peaks, and not too far away was the stark whiteness of a few glaciers, perenially frozen and covered with snow. It was the closest I'd ever come to tears just from the sheer beauty of it all.

My friend Matt and I planned our nine-day trek through Swiss country for about two months. We pored over travel books, and fully utilized the assistance of our respective nearest Swiss Tourist offices. I guess we could as easily have taken a tour, but none of the tours we looked at covered all the places we wanted to visit, and gave the time to allow the activities we wanted to engage in. So Matt and I came up with our own itinerary and our own schedule, thereby giving us the flexibility and freedom to fully enjoy our trip. May you find the same enjoyment as you go through these pages with us.
